# WordPress and WooCommerce

> Install the chat on a WordPress site in a minute, and see your WooCommerce customers' carts and orders in the inbox.

The Luxivo plugin adds the chat to every page of your WordPress site. No code to paste.

## Install

1. In WordPress, go to **Plugins → Add New**, search for **Luxivo Live Chat**, click **Install Now** and activate it.
It's the [Luxivo Live Chat plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/luxivo-live-chat/) from the WordPress plugin directory.
You can also [download the zip](/downloads/luxivo-wordpress.zip) and add it with **Upload Plugin**.
3. Open **Settings → Luxivo** and click **Connect with Luxivo**.
4. Sign in (or start a free trial), pick the chat for this site and click **Connect**.

You're sent back to WordPress, and the chat shows on your site right away. Your site's address is
added to the widget's allowed websites for you.

Prefer to do it by hand? Paste the widget key from **Chat → your brand → Install** into **Settings → Luxivo → Widget key**.

## Options

- **Chat button**: bottom right or bottom left.
- **Logged-in users**: when someone is logged in to WordPress, your team sees their name and e-mail,
so you can answer them by e-mail even after they leave.
- **WooCommerce**: see below.

Colors, texts, office hours, proactive messages, AI and the pages without the chat are set in
Luxivo (**Chat → your brand**), not in WordPress. Changes show up on the next page load.

## WooCommerce

With WooCommerce active, the inbox shows a **WooCommerce** card next to the conversation:

- the visitor's **cart**: items, quantities and the total, with links to the products
- for logged-in customers, their **last five orders**: number, status, total and date, each linked to
the order in your WooCommerce admin.

It updates live when the visitor adds or removes something. The cart is never written into your
pages, so page caching plugins can't show one visitor's cart to another. The plugin asks WordPress
for it separately, and only when there's something in the cart or the visitor is logged in.

The card is marked "Reported by the website": it comes from the visitor's browser, so treat it as
context for the conversation, not as a record (check the order in WooCommerce before refunding).

## Language

The widget follows your site's language (`<html lang>`), so it works with WPML and Polylang:
visitors on the Polish version get the Polish chat.

## For developers

- `luxivo_enabled` filter: return `false` to keep the chat off a request, e.g.
  `add_filter( 'luxivo_enabled', fn( $on ) => $on && ! is_page( 'landing' ) );`
- The page API works as on any site: `Luxivo("open")`, `Luxivo("identify", { email, name })`,
  `Luxivo("context", { cart, orders })`. See [Installing the widget](/docs/widget).
